Call for Papers: Chinese Philosophy on Traditional and Contemporary Issues
Traditional Chinese philosophy has a long history that continues to contribute to the cultural heritage of East Asia. It played a significant role in the formation of Chinese values, lifestyle, national psychology and spirit. Ancient and modern Chinese philosophers have always been concerned about social reality. Their philosophical works are essential for the preservation of life. Traditional Chinese philosophy especially maintains care and concern for the value of human life, emphasizing the cultivation of human nature, the family, community and the state.
At present, modern Chinese philosophy has moved beyond the debate between materialism and idealism. While referring to the Western philosophers, contemporary Chinese philosophers continue to draw upon traditional Chinese philosophical thinking, while they contribute their own perspectives concerning issues such as environmental ethics, social political order, logic, reasoning, cognition and technology. Modern Chinese philosophers are solution-oriented. Their creative philosophical research creates a body of practical philosophical wisdom that cultivates and improves the quality of human life.
This special issue of the Trans/Form/Ação journal mainly focuses on how contemporary Chinese philosophers understand and analyze traditional and modern philosophical debates and concerns. The topics of proposed articles may include but are not limited to the following:
Unity of Heaven (nature) and the Humanity
Ethics and Morality
Social-Political Philosophy
Logic and Language
Correlative (Yin Yang) Reasoning
Knowledge and Action
Cognition, Technology, and Artificial intelligence
Oriental Philosophy
