O sábio estóico possui o discernimento aristotélico?

Resumo:

A virtude intelectual do discernimento (frovnhsi") ocupa uma posição privilegiada na ética de Aristóteles, já que intervém para julgar e escolher a melhor opção com relação a nossas ações voluntárias. Quanto aos estóicos, as virtudes são saberes e reduzem-se a uma só. Aqueleque possui essa virtude única é chamado de ‘sábio’ (sovfov") e pode escolher, por si mesmo, aação adequada para alcançar a felicidade. Assim, queremos descobrir se o sábio estóico se aproxima do prudente (frovnhsi") aristotélico, ao examinar alguns temas chave da ética dessas escolas filosóficas. Concluímos que as teses semelhantes ultrapassam as que se opõem, apesar de encontrar um vocabulário bastante distinto que engana à primeira vista.
