O páthos trágico de Aquiles

Resumo:

Concentrado na Ilíada, de Homero, este artigo examina a possibilidade de se considerar trágico o destino de Aquiles, pela finitude de sua condição mortal. A estrutura da ética heróica grega, da imortalização poética dos guerreiros virtuosos, é questionada por Aquiles, cuja ira e dúvida determinam o futuro da guerra. Este artigo apresenta também a diferença entre os conceitos de trágico e de tragédia, a fim de entender a dimensão trágica na epopéia, sem confundi-la com o gênero literário da tragédia, que a sucedeu.
