Justiça: igualdade e bondade no Platonismo Medieval

Resumo:

Alguns filósofos medievais subscrevem certo cognitivismo moral, de raiz platônica, ao entenderem que a boa escolha tem em vista o conhecimento da Ideia do Bem; e, por conseguinte, a má escolha residiria na sua ignorância ou num certo grau de afastamento da mesma. Grande parte, porém, firma uma tese distinta: de que a escolha é motivada secundariamente pelo conhecimento e primariamente pela vontade; e em última análise: que a vontade delibera a respeito de alternativas conhecidas pelos agentes. Tomando a escolha com relação à virtude da justiça, avaliaremos três posições recorrentes no pensamento medieval que, apesar de beberem na mesma fonte platônica, resultam em soluções divergentes.
