Resumo:

O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar o surgimento e consolidação da estética como disciplina filosófica no interior do ambiente filosófico alemão do século XVIII, mais especificamente nas filosofias de Baumgarten e Kant. Em primeiro lugar discutiremos os contornos iniciais da estética em Baumgarten como uma ciência filosófica das representações sensíveis, pertencentes à faculdade inferior do conhecimento. Na sequência, após expormos as insuficiências desse modelo baumgarteano, analisaremos esforço de Kant em libertar a estética dos padrões racionalistas, abrindo a possibilidade para uma disciplina filosófica da sensibilidade genuína e radicalmente autônoma

Abstract:

This article aims to analyze the emergence and consolidation of aesthetics as a philosophical discipline within the German philosophical environment of the eighteenth century, more specifically in the philosophies of Baumgarten and Kant. At first we discuss in Baumgarten the initial outlines of aesthetics as a philosophical science of the sensible representations belonging to the lower faculty of knowledge. After exposing the shortcomings of this Baumgartian' model, we arrive then at Kant's effort to free the aesthetics from the rationalists standards, opening up the possibility for a philosophical discipline of sensibility genuinely and radically autonomous.
