Abstract:

The article thematize the relation between action and language in the constitution of sociability in Phenomenology of Spirit, demonstrating that, for Hegel, an action is only truly good when it is negated as a mere individuality. That is, its realization as a subjective will would be in contradiction with the totality of human existence when realizing only a casual determination of man. For the philosopher, the unity of this experience can only be reached through the overcoming of the individualized intentional act, occasion in which the language plays a fundamental role: by always being forced to decide and act, the subject ends up recognizing the Other as a limit to their volitional realization and recognized as a singularity only when expressing their conviction, particularly, what they consider to be good and fair. In order to do that, two moments of the phenomenic saga are followed: the formation of a subjectivity which experiences the inadequacy between the ideal and the real world and between itself and other subjectivities; and the experience of a subjectivity which, taking notice of its place and belonging in this historical world of ethic and moral relations.
