Resumo:

Apesar das diferenças de formação e método, tanto o filósofo Heidegger quanto o egiptólogo Assmann discutem a relação entre religião e verdade.  A abordagem fenomenológica substitui a filosofia da religião.  Para Assmann, a noção de religião verdadeira nasce da transição traumática do politeísmo para o monoteísmo, com o que chama distinção mosaica. Para Heidegger, as religiões que aspiram a uma verdade absoluta além disso determinam o que é fundar e justificar o ente.  A concepção filosófica de verdade se origina do encontro de ontologia e teologia, mesmo onde a teologia é denunciada. O cristianismo entrou em uma relação de reafirmação recíproca com a ontologia.  Pergunta-se se haveria algo semelhante fora da filosofia grega. Segundo Assmann, o cânone judaico anuncia o princípio do terceiro excluído, ainda que não ofereça uma ontologia.

Abstract:

Despite differences in background and method, both the philosopher Heidegger and the Egyptologist Assmann discuss the relationship between religion and truth. Neither is a professional philosopher of religion. For Assmann, the notion of true religion arises from the traumatic transition from polytheism to monotheism, with what he calls the Mosaic distinction. For Heidegger, religions that aspire to an absolute truth furthermore define what is a philosophical ground and justification. The philosophical concept of truth arises from the encounter between ontology and theology, even where theology is denounced. Christianity entered into a relationship of reciprocal reaffirmation with ontology. The question arises whether something similar o ontotheology exists outside Greek philosophy. According to Jan Assmann, the Jewish canon announces the principle of the excluded middle, even though it does not offer an ontology.
